The second round of Super Drift Series took place at Warsaw air port Bemowo and was quite extraordinary for Kager’s representative.
On one hand Paweł Trela presented very well in front of largely present audience on the other the final result hardly met his primary expectations.
There were also some mixed feelings concerning the whole event at Bemowo reported by other Super Drift Series contestants. This round played within the swinging „Man’s Day” event gathered a large crowd, in front of whom it was worth to make the best of it. The show off and marked drift drives were one of the main attractions for the public. But there was the other side of the coin that is the route itself. The flat air port surface was not able to bring as much emotions and pleasure of ride as a appropriately levelled race track, also a rough concrete ground is an absolute tyre killer. The conditions were equal for everyone so there was not much left but join the rivalry. First stage was the elimination for the Top 16, which for a while now are an advantage of Kager’s contestant. This time it was the same. Paweł could not overcome few mistakes, but the final result did not leave any doubts – first place with 95 points and two extra points to the annual score for winning the selection round. This did not come in easy because the level of leaders was very high and even a minor Misteka can cost the win this came true for among many sensational Winner of Kielce round Mateusz Włodarczak. The route which was far from standard gave the contestants a hard time. Mechanic and vulcanization specialist had their hands full of work. The last ones had to take on them an intensified level of tyre use for the surface.
The final 16 start began by Kager Motorsport contestant knockout . His first drive brought the admiration of the crowd, and the second where Paweł drove behind his rival drove the public crazy. The opportunity where one drives behind rivals back to pass him on such a short distance is not typical for drifting. Paweł not only passed his rival but also took over the lead by an spectacular slide on the longest track bend, the point result was obvious.
A similar situation which had a slightly different result appeared in a quarter final when Paweł chased Przemysław Jańczak representing BMW .Through the first lap Paweł drove very well but Jańczak who drove behind decided to stake everything on one card. Until the first bend he drove much faster than before and prepared the car to slide earlier. It was worth it for Jańczak got what he wanted that is the points tie. During the second round Paweł drove very aggressively and easily couth up with his rival. To avoid straitening the car and loosing the speed he ,made the same manoeuvre as before. And so he passed his competitor unfortunately in such a place which according to the judges, disabled Jańczak to prepare to another bend and forced him to get off the track. As the rules say it was 10:0 result on Paweł’s disadvantage. For Kager’s contestant it meant the end of the race, it was voted the sensation of the tournament.
There was not much left but cheer the colleagues. Among them the best turned out to be Bartosz „BRT” Stolarski. The Champion from 2007 defeated the revelation of this race Piotr Grelka. Third place taken by Przemysław Jańczak. After the Warsaw tournament Kager’s contestamnt craves the playback and is surely billing to show off what he is capable off during the next race. These will take place in two weeks time on the track in Lublin-where Paweł’s adventure with Nissan 200X and Kager’s Motorsport team all started!
